Hannah Smith
Hannah is based in Sydney, Australia, where she teaches high school Maths. Outside of the classroom, she dedicates her time to designing knitting and crochet patterns.
Her introduction to crafting came from a long family tradition, and she was taught to knit, crochet, and sew from an early age. Hannah can speak both "English" and "American" crochet and incorporates diagrams into her patterns to enhance clarity.
With a keen interest in geometry and pattern design, Hannah's crochet patterns reflect her fascination with these elements. Where possible she creates size-inclusive patterns that accommodate a range of bust sizes, from 32” to 50”.

Class Highlights:
Neckline Solutions: Learn how to use crochet to ease a gaping neckline and stabilise necks and shoulders seams for a polished finish.
Edging Techniques: Master simple crochet edgings as an alternative to ribbing to prevent edges from rolling or stretching out of shape. We will look at how these edges can be used to lengthen hems and sleeves or add width to the fronts of a cardigan.
Perfect Buttons: Struggling to find the perfect button for your knitting? Learn how to create crochet buttons that match your projects perfectly and discover how to make crochet buttonholes.
Equip yourself with versatile crochet techniques to solve common knitting problems and enhance your knitted projects.
Participants should be able to do basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet and treble crochet, but the class is intended for knitters with very little crocheting experience.
Please bring any troublesome knitting projects with you.
Materials to bring:
• Yarn (same weight as the knitted project).
• Crochet hooks (appropriate size for the yarn).
• Knitted swatches to practise edgings. Old gauge swatches are perfect.
